Bachelor of Science in Business with a Major in Strategic Human Resource Management
The Bachelor of Science in Business program recognizes that the field of human resource management is growing and changing. Regardless of size, public or private status, HR professionals must achieve a deep understanding of the human condition. Graduates must be prepared with skills in talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, training, employment law, HR policy and the best practices to help their organizations succeed. The curriculum focuses on establishing strong written and oral communication skills, problem-solving techniques and an innovative approach to supporting personnel in both their professional and personal endeavors. Undergraduate Division
The primary objective of the 1903 Fisher College was for the education of immigrant workers. Today’s campus is located in a premier location in Boston’s Back Bay community. With easy access to major retail centers, businesses and government offices, students have numerous opportunities for internships and job prospects. Fisher College presently operates as an independent, non-profit academic center with accreditation through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Students have a choice of 26 majors leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management
The Bachelor of Science in Management degree incorporates a broad-based business core with management skills. The curriculum is grounded with management principles that apply to all economic sectors. Ten special concentrations are available for all facets of management including Human Resource Management. This emphasis is centered on fundamentals of psychology, behavior, ethics, employment law, labor relations and management. The HRM major prepares students in high-demand proficiencies such as planning, leading, organizing, controlling, technology, analytical and communication skills. The experienced faculty at Fisher College understands the need to stay current on business trends and incorporate those issues with real-life internship experiences.

Salem State University
Bertolon School of Business
The Salem Normal School was founded in 1854. As the school grew and programs were added, the school became Salem State College. Legislation elevated it once more in 2010 to the current Salem State University. The current core curriculum is focused on liberal arts and is public supported. The Salem State campus is located a few miles from Boston, Massachusetts in the historic coastal town of Salem and is one of the largest in the state. Over 9,300 students have a wide selection of undergraduate, graduate and certificate majors with 2,025 degrees being offered.
BS in Business Administration – Human Resources Management Concentration
The BS in Business Administration prepares students in a full complement of business topics. All business students gain proficiency in the core subjects in finance, business law, management, accounting, MIS, marketing, analysis, and operations. Students are then offered opportunities for specialization in eleven unique business concentrations. The Human Resources Management Concentration provides learning tools to master team building, conflict resolution, employment interviewing, negotiation, organization and communication. An internship experience or final project is required for graduation.
