The University of Mary offers a Human Resource Management Concentration that can be added to four different degree programs: Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Business, Master of Project Management, and Master of Public Administration.
The Master of Business Administration focuses on the application of business practices in an array of organizational settings with emphases on finance, accounting, and economics. A total of 36 credit hours are needed to finish the program. The core courses include Managerial Accounting, Executive Economic Analysis, Managerial Finance, Operations Management, Law in the Managerial Environment, Marketing, Statistics and Research, Ethics, Human Resource Management, and Management and Organizational Behavior.
The Master of Science in Business assist students in developing knowledge and abilities to succeed in complex and always changing business environments. The program places a strong focus on soft skills and leadership. A total of 33 credit hours are needed for completion of the program. The core courses include Fundamentals of Finance, Accounting and Economics, Executive Leadership, Operations Management, Law in the Managerial Environment, Marketing, Statistics and Research, Ethics, and Management and Organizational Behavior.
The Master of Project Management provides the abilities needed to become successful project managers. The curriculum provides students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources, to execute projects to time and in accordance with the budget. A total of 36 credit hours are needed to complete the program. The core courses include Management and Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Statistics and Research, Ethics, Introduction to Project Management, Marketing, Operations Management, Project Initiation, Project Planning, Project Executive and Control, and Graduate Business Capstone.
The Master of Public Administration is intended to provide students with an evaluation of public administration in the American system of government. A certain focus is placed on how public and private sectors are different from leadership, organizational, and logistic points of view. The program requires the completion of 36 credit hours. The core courses include Management and Organizational Behavior, Introduction to Project Management, Human Resource Management, Ethics, Statistics and Research, Marketing, Law in Managerial Environment, Operations Management, Foundations of Public Administration, Public Financing and Budgeting, Leadership in the Public Sector, and Graduate Business Capstone.
The human resource management concentration prepares students to function as innovative leaders and successful problem solvers in human resource management. It was created based on the human resources body of knowledge as defined by the Society for Human Resource Management and HR Certification Institute. A total of nine semester credits in the human resource management concentration is required. The human resources courses include Collective Bargaining and Labor Relations, Human Resource Development, and Strategic Compensation: A Human Resources Management Approach. After completion of the human resources concentration, students will have the ability to create innovative human resource management solutions that support the strategic goals of an organization.
