Loyola University in Chicago offers degree programs for future human resources professionals through its Quinlan School of Business. One of those is a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource (HR) Management. The BBA program features a core of 13 business classes, including Principles of Economics, Operations Management, Principles of Marketing, Strategic Management and Managing People and Operations. Students will also take a minimum of four HR classes, including Compensation Management and Employee Relations. After taking Principles of Marketing and getting a C or higher, students must take Principles of Human Resource Management. Other concentrations available for BBA students include management, information systems, sport management, and marketing.
Also available is a Master of Science in Human Resources (MSHR) program. Designed to meet the standards established by the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), it includes courses that offer practical training for students. Students can take part in a mentor program that pairs them with professionals working in the field, which helps them gain even more experience. The program includes nine courses such as Human Resource Development, Human Resources Law, Compensation and Business Ethics. Students with less than three years of professional business and/or management experience must also do an internship. The university also offers electives that help students meet the requirements for getting an SHRM certificate too.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offered by Loyola University in Chicago has various concentrations available in fields such as marketing and HR management. Students only need to take three HR courses and can choose from classes that include Human Resources Law, Human Resource Development, Labor Management Relations, Organizational Change, and Incentive Pay and Employee Benefits. The courses in the business core that all MBA students must take include Financial Accounting for Decision Making, Operations Management, Global Environmental Ethics and Managing and Motivating in the Workplace.

Loyola University in Chicago is a university also known as Loyola University Chicago. To separate itself from other schools with the same name, it uses nicknames such as LUC. Founded in 1870 as St. Ignatius College, the college chose a location near the city center. It kept this name until 1909, which was when it moved to its current location and adopted the LUC name. Some of the buildings on the original campus are now part of a prep school. LUC changed over the years as the needs of its student base changed. This led to the university adding a law school and a medical school as well as creating colleges for social work, business, and other fields.

Loyola University in Chicago Accreditation Details
LUC has accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCACS) and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). This is the form of accreditation that lets LUC award degrees to students who successfully meet all their requirements, but it’s also what lets the university design aid packages for students who need financial support. The human resources and other business degree programs at the university have accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) too.
Loyola University in Chicago Application Requirements
The priority deadline for incoming freshmen who qualify for academic scholarships is December 1. Students applying for merit scholarships or government financial aid must submit their scholarships by February 1 through March 1. Those accepted into the program have until May 1 to put down an enrollment deposit, which guarantees that they have a spot in the fall class. The main requirements for incoming freshmen include the online application, a high school transcript, ACT or SAT score and a letter of recommendation. LUC allows students to have their counselors or teachers mail in their letters or complete an online recommendation form. The university highly encourages students to submit both a resume and an essay too. Students can write an essay on any topic of their choosing.
Though students applying to the MSHR program must also complete an online application, the university offers different deadlines for them. The application for students who want to start their graduate students in the fall is July 15. Students can submit their applications and start the MSHR program in the winter, spring or summer too. They need to provide two letters of recommendation, official transcripts, test scores and a statement of purpose that explains why they selected LUC and what they hope to achieve in school and when they graduate. Tuition and Financial Aid
Undergrads attending LUC pay $788 per credit hour as a part-time student in the BBA program. If they take a full course load, they pay $21,360 each semester and can take up to 21 credit hours of classes before they face the overload charge of $352 per credit hour. Undergrads also pay fees of around $540 per semester. Graduate students in both the MBA and the MSHR programs pay $4,488 per class. The university offers an executive MBA program for students with more experience. Those students pay $92,000 to complete the entire program. All students pay for any of the supplies or books that they need in their classes and for their room and board.
The average amount of financial aid awarded to an incoming freshman is more than $27,000. Students get aid from both the government and the university, though they’ll need to submit the FAFSA to get that aid. As long as LUC receives a student’s application by the specified deadline, it will consider him or her for academic and need scholarships. These scholarships range in size from $17,000 to $22,000 a year and will stack onto any other aid granted to a student.
